Warm Blue Cheese Dip

Contributed by: Melinda

This could be served in a fondue pot, but a pretty crockery baking dish works nicely.

1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
4 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
1-2 garlic cloves
4 green onions, chopped
2 strips bacon, fried crisp and chopped
1/4 to 1/2 cup cream (can substitute milk or half & half)
Black pepper
  • Soften cream cheese - bring to room temperature, or place in the microwave on defrost for 30 - 45 seconds
  • Slice 1 clove of garlic in half and peel. Rub peeled side all over inside a small mixing bowl and inside a small baking dish
  • Proceed to mince the remaining garlic
  • In the garlic rubbed mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, blue cheese, green onions and minced garlic
  • Add about 1/4 cup cream and stir
  • Place into a 350 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes
  • Remove and stir - If necessary return to the oven to finish melting the blue cheese and blending the cheeses. More cream may be added to thin.
  • Remove from oven and stir in chopped bacon and black pepper
  • Serve warm a sliced french bread baguette
