Chocolate Fantasy Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar (or 1/4 cup brown and 1/4 cup white sugar)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch ground cloves
pinch salt
1 Tbl grated orange zest
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • Cream butter, sugar and cocoa powder.ð
  • Add egg, vanilla, orange zest, clove and salt and mix well
  • Add 1/2 cup flour and baking soda
  • Stir to combine well
  • Add remaining flour
  • Add chocolate chips, coconut and nuts
  • Combine until goodies are evenly distributed and chill for about 20 minutes
  • Place 1 inch balls onto a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes
  • Cool one minute in pan and remove to a cookie rack to finish cooling (if you can wait)

    This is my own recipe - I wanted all these flavors one afternoon. Change it - add to it in any way you feel like. Let me know what you do and how it turns out.
