2 corned beef briskets
1 head cabbage
3 onions
2 tbl apple cider vinegar
25 peppercorns
5 whole cloves
6 stalks celery
6 carrots
4 - 5 potatoes
butter
  • Using large kettle Cover corned beef with water and bring to boil
  • Boil for 15 minutes and discard water and rinse corned beef - This takes the salt away
  • Cover corned beef with fresh water
  • Add onions cut into large pieces, apple cider vinegar, peppercorns and cloves
  • Simmer for 3 hours
  • Add celery, carrots and potatoes, quartered
  • The last 15 minutes of cooking add cabbage
  • Remove Corned beef and slice
  • Remove vegetables, add butter
