Kathy's Corned Beef

2 corned beef briskets
1 head cabbage
3 onions
2 tbl apple cider vinegar
25 peppercorns
5 whole cloves
6 stalks celery
6 carrots
4 - 5 potatoes
butter
- Using large kettle Cover corned beef with water and bring to boil
- Boil for 15 minutes and discard water and rinse corned beef -
This takes the salt away
- Cover corned beef with fresh water
- Add onions cut into large pieces, apple cider vinegar, peppercorns and cloves
- Simmer for 3 hours
- Add celery, carrots and potatoes, quartered
- The last 15 minutes of cooking add cabbage
- Remove Corned beef and slice
- Remove vegetables, add butter
