Grilled Plums with Gorgonzola

Quick - 30 minutes or less Total time for this recipe is 30 minutes or less.

This recipe is incredibly fast and a wonderful after dinner treat. It works nicely using freestone fruit such as european style plums which have a firmer texture. Try Italian Prune Plums or Sugar Plums.

Serves 4.

12 italian prune plums, cut in half and pits removed
1 tbl oil
6 oz. gorgonzola cheese
2 tbl milk or cream
2 1/2 - 3 tbl honey
1 tbl minced fresh herb - Rosemary is nice (optional)
  • Using a fork combine gorgonzola and milk or cream until fairly smooth
  • Stir in minced herb if using
  • Set aside while grilling plums
  • Brush medium hot grill with oil and place plum halves skin side down
  • Grill for 1 minute, then turn
  • Grill face down for 1 additional minute or until fruit begins to soften
  • Remove plums from grill and place on a serving tray cut side up
  • Spoon about 1 tsp cheese mixture into cavity
  • Drizzle with honey and serve warm
