Herb Goat Cheese

Contributed by: Melinda

There is little as an appetizer or hors d'oeuvres element as simple as cheese. However, when you want to dress up a cheese plate a bit, try this flexible technique.

1 - 11 oz. log of Silver Goat Chevre (Goat Cheese) from Trader Joes
1-2 cloves roasted or fresh garlic, pasted (smashed thoroughly)
1 cup any combination chopped herbs; parsley, thyme, oregano, sage, cilantro, etc.
2 tsp any combination ground spices; black pepper, paprika, cumin, coriander, etc.
  • Regrigerate Goat Cheese until very firm
  • In a small bowl, combine herbs and spices - pour onto a plate
  • Remove cheese from packaging and rub thoroughly with garlic
  • Roll log in herb/spice mixture, pressing firmly to be certain herbs adhere well
  • Re-wrap log in plastic wrap to store
  • Remove cheese 30 minutes before serving
  • Place on cheese board or plate with crackers or cocktail bread and a cheese or butter knife
