Marinated Strawberries with Mint

Contributed by: Melinda

4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 tbl granulated sugar
2 tbl Grand Marnier or Chambord or other fruit liqueur
pinch salt
2 tbl chopped fresh mint leaves
  • Place strawberries in a bowl with sugar and liqueur
  • Stir to combine well and refrigerate at least 2 hours, stirring a couple of times
  • When ready to serve, chop mint leaves and add to the strawberries
  • Serve in small bowls with some of the syrup from the bottom of the bowl

This is a nice dessert accompanied by a cordial glass of the liqueur used in the recipe or with a nice sparkling wine.
