Home Made Pizza Dough

Contributed by: Melinda

This recipe is for a bread machine, but you could also purchase pizza dough from a local pizzeria, or at some markets such as Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

1 cup flat Beer
1 Tbl Olive Oil
2 Tbl Sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp yeast
  • Add ingredients according to directions for your bread maker. (Most take liquid first followed by dry ingredients, but they are not all the same. Be sure to use the proper method for your machine.)
  • Set DOUGH setting
  • When finished, remove from pan and divide into two equal portions.
  • Roll to a thin, 12 inch rough circle.
  • Prepare with sauce and toppings and bake approximately 10-20 minutes, until crust is light brown.

    Variations:
Without Beer - omit beer and use 1 cup water, reduce sugar to 1 Tbl
Seasoned Crust - add 1 tsp dry seasoning to liquid in the pan: onion granules, or basil flakes, or italian seasoning are some options
