Home Made Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
Contributed by: Melinda
This recipe is for a bread machine, but you could also purchase pizza
dough from a local pizzeria, or at some markets such as Trader Joe's or
Whole Foods.
3/4 cup warm water
2 Tbl oil
1 Tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups white wheat flour (King Arthur flours are very nice for bread
and they have a white wheat flour that works nicely in this recipe)
1 tsp yeast
- Add ingredients according to directions for your bread maker. (Most
take liquid first followed by dry ingredients, but they are not all the
same. Be sure to use the proper method for your machine.)
- Set DOUGH setting
- When finished, remove from pan and divide into two equal portions.
- Roll to a thin, 12 inch rough circle.
- Prepare with sauce and toppings and bake approximately 10-20 minutes,
until crust is light brown.
Variations:
Seasoned Crust - add 1 tsp dry seasoning to liquid in the pan: onion granules, or basil flakes, or
italian seasoning are some options
