Grilled Shrimp Skewers

25 30-40 count fresh shrimp, peeled and cleaned
Olive Oil
Garlic, minced
Fresh thyme or taragon sprigs
Salt and Pepper
Warm Herbed Olive Oil or Clarified Butter
French Bread
  • In a medium bowl, combine about 3 tablespoons olive oil, garlic, fresh herb, salt & pepper.
  • Add peeled and cleaned shrimp and marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours
  • Prepare grill to medium hot
  • Over low heat, add thyme or taragon to olive oil and heat
  • Remove shrimp from marinade and skewer about 6 shrimp per skewer
  • Place shrimp skewers on grill and cook about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes per side
  • Remove from grill and remove shrimp from skewers
  • Serve with other kabobs or as a first course with French Bread and Warm Herbed Oil

    Meyer Lemon wedges make a nice accompaniment
