Smoked Cheese

Contributed by: Melinda

This works for a before dinner or after dinner treat. If serving after dinner, place on the grill after the meal is finished cooking. You can enjoy your dinner, while the cheese is smoking and softening.

1 block of medium hard cheese such as cheddar or swiss
Seasonings if desired
  • In a small smoke proof baking dish (disposable foil pans work or use an old glass baking dish) place the cheese
  • Sprinkle on any seasonings you wish to use (ie. dijon mustard, chili seasonings, garlic or onion powder)
  • Place at the edge of the smoker grill and cover grill
  • Leave until melted through (about 1 1/4 hours)
  • Serve with a sliced french baguette, crudite or tortillas
