Taco Salad

4 8" tortillas
nonstick cooking spray
12 oz. lean ground beef or ground turkey
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 tsp flour
1 1/3 cup tomato sauce
2 4 oz. cans chopped green chilies
1 cup cherry tomatoes quartered
1/2 cup shredded jack cheese
chili powder to taste
taco sauce or salsa
  • preheat oven to 350
  • brush tortillas lightly with water to make pliable
  • press into small oven-proof dishes or form over aluminum foil ball.
  • spray with cooking spray
  • bake 15 - 20 minutes or until light brown
  • cook meat, onion & garlic till meat is brown & onion tender, drain add flour, tomato sauce, chilies and chili powder
  • stir & cook until bubbly, then 1 minute more
  • arrange lettuce & tomato in cooled shells
  • top with meat & cheese
  • top with taco sauce or salsa
