If you're not concerned about a vegetarian meal, you can add 1 lb of ground meat and saute it with the onion and spices.

1 lb (2 cups dry) Aduki beans, soaked and cooked until semi-soft or as desired
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatos
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2-3 T Grandma's Chili Powder
1 T whole cumin seed
1 T Worcestershire sauce
2 - 4 Jalapeno peppers, chopped
Salt to taste
  • Saute onion, garlic, chili powder and cumin seed.
  • Add remaining ingredients and simmer for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until all is flavorful and the beans are very tender.

Serve with Tabasco Sauce (yes, even with jalapeno - the flavor is terrific) You can substitute a green bell pepper if you don't want to use the Jalapeno's.
