Cheese with Dried Fruit

I have a few after dinner treats I like to serve guests, but by far the easiest are cheese and fruit. If you're serving 4 people, choose 1 cheese and 1 fruit. For a party, select several and include some cookies or serve dessert after the cheese. Below are a few complimentary combinations.

What you need

  1. 1 wedge Double or Triple cream Brie cheese, rind on
  2. 1 wedge Jarlsberg cheese
  3. 1 4 oz. log Chevre
  4. 1 wedge Stilton or Danish Blue cheese
  5. Dried turkish apricots
  6. Dried figs or dates
  7. Dried Cranberries or Cherries
  8. Shelled Pistachios, Pecans or Almonds

How to make it

  1. This can be served on a wooden cutting board or pretty platter. If desired, place several large nasturtium leaves under the cheese. If you have a large group, prepare more than one platter with 1 or 2 cheese each.
  2. Give each guest a small appetizer or cake plate and a dessert fork
  3. Unwrap cheese and place on the platter leaving enough room for guests to cut and serve their own cheese
  4. Make small piles of the dried fruits in the center of the platter
  5. Sprinkle a handful of nuts over the dish. Garnish with nasturtium or other edible flowers for fun
