Grilled Plums with Gorgonzola

This recipe is incredibly fast and a wonderful after dinner treat. It works nicely using freestone fruit such as european style plums which have a firmer texture. Try Italian Prune Plums or Sugar Plums.

What you need

  1. 12 italian prune plums, cut in half and pits removed
  2. 1 tbl oil
  3. 6 oz. gorgonzola cheese
  4. 2 tbl milk or cream
  5. 2 1/2 - 3 tbl honey
  6. 1 tbl minced fresh herb - Rosemary is nice (optional)

How to make it

  1. Using a fork combine gorgonzola and milk or cream until fairly smooth
  2. Stir in minced herb rosemary
  3. Set aside while grilling plums
  4. Brush medium hot grill with oil and place plum halves skin side down
  5. Grill for 1 minute, then turn
  6. Grill face down for 1 additional minute or until fruit begins to soften
  7. Remove plums from grill and place on a serving tray cut side up
  8. Spoon about 1 tsp cheese mixture into cavity
  9. Drizzle with honey and serve warm
