Herbed Goat Cheese
There is little as an appetizer or hors d'oeuvres element as simple
as cheese. However, when you want to dress up a cheese plate a
bit, try this flexible technique.
What you need
- One 10 - 12 oz log Chevre
- 1-2 cloves roasted or fresh garlic, pasted (smashed thoroughly)
- 1 cup any combination chopped herbs; parsley, thyme, oregano, sage, cilantro, etc.
- 2 tsp any combination ground spices; black pepper, paprika, cumin, coriander, etc.
How to make it
- Refrigerate Goat Cheese until very firm
- In a small bowl, combine herbs and spices - pour onto a plate
- Remove cheese from packaging and rub thoroughly with garlic
- Roll log in herb/spice mixture, pressing firmly to be certain herbs
adhere well
- Re-wrap log in plastic wrap to store
- Remove cheese 30 minutes before serving
- Place on cheese board or plate with crackers or cocktail bread and a
cheese or butter knife
