Refreshing Tonic Herbal Tea

Contributed by: Melinda

Herbal teas have wonderful properties and if you grow herbs, they can be easily used to make refreshing and rejuvenating summer beverages. Stinging nettle and dandelions have remarkable attributes and when consumed regularly, along with a healthy diet, they can be great support for overall health.

If you have any chronic health issues or are taking any medications, seek advice from your physician or pharmacist before using/consuming herbs. Because herbs have medicinal properties, you could have a reaction if used in conjunction with medications/treatments.

This is one of my favorites summer herbal teas.

  1. 4 cups boiling water
  2. 4 heaping teaspoons dried, crushed stinging nettle leaves

  5. 4 small dandelion leaves, torn
  6. Juice of 1 valencia orange
  7. 1/16th teaspoon pure stevia powder

  2. Pour boiling water over and let steep 15 minutes
  3. Remove herbs and allow to cool to room temperature

  5. Chill for a few hours - server over ice cubes
