Roast Turkey, Dressed

What you need

  1. 12-15 lb Turkey
  2. 2 pkg. sour dough bread cubes
  3. 4 Tablespoons poultry seasoning
  4. 1-2 chopped onions
  5. 4-5 stalks celery
  6. Turkey Giblets and meat from neck Chopped cooked in water (reserve broth)
  7. 1 cube Butter

How to make it

Turkey

  1. Wash and salt inside of Turkey
  2. Stuff with dressing (see below)
  3. Close turkey with string and place in large roaster
  4. Baste top with melted butter and cover loosely with foil
  5. Bake according to directions for weight of turkey
  6. Baste often with melted butter

Dressing

  1. Combine bread cubes, poultry seasoning, onion, celery, neck meat, giblets
  2. Stuff full, but loosely packed into cavity of turkey
  3. Moisten remaining mixture with broth from cooking giblets and neck
  4. Bake in separate casserole at 350 for 1 hour
