Smoked Beef Burgers

When grilling ground beef burgers, don't rush it. Make sure the coals are completely ashed over and don't turn the burgers until the juices begin to appear on the top of the patties.

What you need

  1. 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  2. Worcestershire
  3. Minced Garlic
  4. Onion Powder
  5. Salt & Pepper
  6. Oak wood for smoking
  7. Blue Cheese or other crumbled cheese (optional)
  8. Minced Jalapeno peppers (optional)
  9. Minced Chives (optional)
  10. 1/4 lb bulk italian sausage (optional)
  11. Minced herbs (optional)

How to make it

  1. In a mixing bowl break up the ground beef and sausage if you're using it
  2. Add seasonings and gently mix
  3. Add additions and toss to combine
  4. Prepare smoker to about 200 to 220 degrees
  5. Place smoke wood on coals and place burgers onto grill
  6. Cover and cook for about 1 hour, turning after about 30 minutes

You can add smoke wood to your coals and grill the burgers as normal, but the smoke doesn't permeate the meat as much.
