Taco Salad

What you need

  1. 4 8" tortillas
  2. nonstick cooking spray
  3. 12 oz. lean ground beef or ground turkey
  4. 1 cup chopped onion
  5. 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  6. 3 tsp flour
  7. 1 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  8. 2 4 oz. cans chopped green chilies
  9. 1 cup cherry tomatoes quartered
  10. 1/2 cup shredded jack cheese
  11. chili powder to taste
  12. taco sauce or salsa

How to make it

  1. preheat oven to 350º
  2. brush tortillas lightly with water to make pliable
  3. press into small oven-proof dishes or form over aluminum foil ball.
  4. spray with cooking spray
  5. bake 15 - 20 minutes or until light brown
  6. cook meat, onion & garlic till meat is brown & onion tender, drain add flour, tomato sauce, chilies and chili powder
  7. stir & cook until bubbly, then 1 minute more
  8. arrange lettuce & tomato in cooled shells
  9. top with meat & cheese
  10. top with taco sauce or salsa
