Winter Tea

Contributed by: Melinda

Generally stevia should not be added to a dish until after cooking. Stevia can become bitter with heat. Pure stevia is different from some of the stevia sweeteners found at supermarkets. This amount of pure stevia is equivalent in sweetness to 1/8 cup or 2 Tablespoons processed sugar or natural honey.

What you need

  1. 10 cups water
  2. 2 inches by 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
  3. 1 cinnamon stick
  4. 3-5 whole cloves
  5. 1/8 tsp pure ground stevia or to taste

How to make it

  1. Bring water to a boil and add ginger, cinnamon and clove
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes
  3. Remove from heat and stir in stevia

his can be served hot or chilled and served cold. Delicious both ways.
