Chili con Carne

What you need

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1 green pepper
  3. 2 onions
  4. 5-6 stalks celery
  5. 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  6. 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  7. 1 can diced tomato
  8. 2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  9. 3 cups frozen corn
  10. 3 cups or more beef broth
  11. 1 tsp hot red pepper flakes
  12. 3 tbl chili powder
  13. 1 tsp cumin
  14. 3 tsp salt
  15. Black pepper

How to make it

  1. Brown ground beef until brown, cutting into very small pieces as it browns. Add Pepper. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Chop onions, celery and green pepper and saut» until soft.
  3. Add garlic, sauté 1 to 2 min.
  4. Add the hamburger, Crushed tomato, pepper flakes, Chile powder, Cumin, and Salt.
  5. Add diced tomato, black beans, frozen corn and beef broth
  6. Cook ingredients together on low heat for 10 minutes. Turn of heat and let sit covered until cool.
  7. Refrigerate until the next day.
  8. Reheat slowly and serve with sour cream chopped shallots and grated cheddar cheese.
