Crab Spread

This is good with fresh crabmeat. Equally so with canned, provided you like the flavor of the canned product. Good with crackers, bread or as a vegetable dip.

What you need

  1. Approximately 6-7 ounces (2/3 cup) of lump crabmeat, fresh or canned
  2. 1 Tablespoon minced red onion
  3. 2 Tablespoons very finely diced red bell pepper
  4. 1-2 Tablespoons very finely diced celery
  5. 1 Tablespoon prepared horseradish
  6. 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  7. 1 or more Tablespoons greek yogurt or light sour cream, enough to create a spread consistency
  8. 1/4 tsp cayenne or more to taste
  9. Whether or not this needs salt depends on all the ingredients, so mix it up, then taste before adding any

How to make it

  1. Break up crab meat in a small mixing bowl
  2. Add everything but salt and mix well
  3. Add additional yogurt if needed for texture
  4. Taste and add salt if needed
