Home Made Basic Pizza Sauce
Contributed by: Melinda
For a simple red sauce, this is a nice basic recipe. Alter or add other
herbs and seasonings to suit your taste.
1 15 oz. can Muir Glen Tomato Sauce
2 large cloves garlic, minced
2-3 Tbl Olive Oil
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 sprigs fresh basil, stems and leaves about 3 inches
Salt and Fresh Black Pepper
- Heat a saucepan over medium heat
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes and heat (about 1 minute - do not
brown garlic)
- Add tomato sauce, basil salt and pepper
- Simmer for about 15-20 minutes until flavors are combined
- Spread thinly over unbaked pizza crust, then add additional desired
toppings
