Potatoes Au Gratin

What you need

  1. 5 large Russets or 8 - 10 medium
  2. 1 medium onion, chopped
  3. 1 lb. cheddar cheese
  4. 1/4 to 1/2 cup butter
  5. 2 1/2 cups scalded milk
  6. Salt and Pepper

How to make it

  1. Slice potatoes very thinly and alternate layers of potato, onion and cheddar cheese.
  2. Halfway through add salt and pepper and again on the top.
  3. Top with pieces of butter.
  4. Pour scalded milk over the top.
  5. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours or until potato is very tender.
  6. Stir after 20 minutes and then every 30 minutes.
