I've experimented with some new-to-me vegetables recently and thought you might be interested. The first is Kohlrabi which I've tried to find at local markets for a couple of years. Finally this year I've been able to purchase it easily. It's local fresh which I like and it's very versatile. Check out my new recipes to see what you think. Kohlrabi is also delicious peeled, sliced and eaten raw or added to any soup. Baked Kohlrabi Chips Vegetable Kohlrabi The second new-to-me veg is Celeriac or Celery Root. I actually did use this in a recipe some years ago and like it. For some reason, I just never picked it up again until now. This is another one that can be eaten raw (must be peeled first!) or cooked. It is delicious baked with milk and gruyere cheese or as a slaw salad with orange juice, cilantro, green onion and a touch or minced red bell pepper. |
