Tuna with Tomato Sauce

What you need

  1. Tuna Steaks - 1 1/4 lbs. total
  2. 1 15oz. can Muir Glen Organic diced tomatoes
  3. 1 Tbl capers
  4. Kosher Salt
  5. Black Pepper
  6. Olive Oil
  7. Coarsly chopped Kalamata olives (Optional)
  8. Fresh herb such as oregano, thyme, etc. (Optional)

How to make it

  1. Pat tuna dry with paper towels and place on a platter
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over med-high heat - when hot, add olive oil
  4. Place tuna into pan and sear on both sides
  5. Add capers to skillet surrounding the tuna and allow about 30 seconds to 1 minute to cook
  6. Pour tomatoes over the tuna - Add olives and fresh herb and cover
  7. Reduce heat to medium and allow tuna to cook in sauce until desired doneness
