Tuna with Tomato Sauce
What you need
- Tuna Steaks - 1 1/4 lbs. total
- 1 15oz. can Muir Glen Organic diced tomatoes
- 1 Tbl capers
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Olive Oil
- Coarsly chopped Kalamata olives (Optional)
- Fresh herb such as oregano, thyme, etc. (Optional)
How to make it
- Pat tuna dry with paper towels and place on a platter
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over med-high heat - when hot, add olive oil
- Place tuna into pan and sear on both sides
- Add capers to skillet surrounding the tuna and allow about 30 seconds
to 1 minute to cook
- Pour tomatoes over the tuna - Add olives and fresh herb and cover
- Reduce heat to medium and allow tuna to cook in sauce until desired
doneness
