Sausages and ground meats can be very affordable. It's especially nice if you can get locally made sausages from locally grown animals. We have quite a lot of that here in Sonoma County and it's a real advantage. They are also very warm and comforting in the fall, but also great for spring and summer cookouts or barbeques.
