Pot Roasted Beef

Contributed by: Kathy

1 2-3 lb beef roast (chuck is flavorful and lends itself to long cooking)
Flour for dusting meat
2 onions, chopped
2 cups water or Beef broth
2 Tbl Kitchen Bouquet
Fresh Garlic to taste
Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Pre heat oven to 325.
  • Dust meat with flour and brown on all sides.
  • Add the seasonings and about 1 - 1 1/2 inches of water.
  • Heat to simmer.
  • Cover pan and transfer to the preheated oven.
  • Roast for 3 hours, turning once.

If your pots won't go into the oven, transfer the roast to a baking dish and cover tightly. Pots with metal handles are a real asset in roasting anything. It is a good idea to have at least one.
