It is surprising how the concept of home prepared lunches is fast on the rise. I guess we're all tired of dining out at lunch, and then going back to work or home feeling sluggish and tired. When you prepare food at home for yourself and friends or family, you can control the ingredients and accompaniments. It's so nice to return to work after eating a healthy meal that provides energy rather than lethargy.

In fact, almost any main dish can work well as a luncheon dish, but it's very valuable to focus on lighter meals during the middle of the day. Any salad served with good french bread, or any two or three appetizers can make an excellent lunch dish. Also soups with biscuits or meat pies which make comforting lunches in cool weather.
